Met my mom and sisters for dinner and had a lovely evening. The servers were very attentive, especially considering how packed the restaurant was. The chips and salsa were average, but the shrimp queso was super tasty. The black beans were surprisingly excellent and the rice was good too. I mixed the rice and beans and plan to do that next time I visit as well. The restaurant is clean and decorated pretty typically for a Mexican restaurant. The patio is nice and quiet.

The patio seating at this location is a bit small seated just in front of the location in the shopping strip. But I had a lovely lunch with my dad last week. I had the tinga tostadas which were great and the chips and salsa were tasty as always. Our waiter was attendant and friendly.

Consistently good Mexican food. Portion size is worth what you are paying. Chips are fresh and salsa is descent. The staff here appears to take pride in their service/food and I feel the Mexican hospitality . Fun, loud atmosphere. Probably not the place to go for a quiet dinner.

I think people give El Vaquero way too much crap! It is a stable, consistently good, fair priced Ohio chain. I love their margs and can easily drink a few at a time. The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful and overall, I've never had a bad experience here.

Pretty standard as far as Mexican restaurants go in the area. Stopped by here for dinner before a movie at the theater next door. Came on a Saturday night and my group of 4 got seated right away even though the place was packed. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. I was saving room for popcorn so I only had cheese dip and an Ala cart quesadilla but it was decent. The tropical red Bull margarita was fantastic and huge!

I know it's a chain, but whenever we want Mexican food, El Vaquero is without a doubt that number one choice. The service, food, and price are all top notch! This past visit, a friend and I went on a Saturday evening. Every once in a while, I try to make sure I order something I've never had before (which is difficult with such a variety of items on the menu), and this was one such occasion. I started with the Quest Fundido with shrimp and poblanos. I could have eaten the whole serving with a spoon, it was THAT good. Luckily, that wasn't necessary, as the staff ensures you are always supplied with a basket of warm chips. For my entree, I chose the Cochinita Pibil, which is a slow cooked pork dish traditionally using annatto / achiote paste and other flavors to marinate the pork. Here, it was served on a bed of rice with green onions, along with tortillas and pico/lettuce/sour cream fixings to make tacos. It was incredible! I usually don't ever eat the beans / refried beans as I'm simply not a fan, but that is not any fault of the restaurant, just my preference. If you're in Gahanna, head straight here the next time you're craving Mexican food!

My mom and I went to El vaquero today for taco week and it was a great experience. There is a lot of lot parking in front of the restaurant so no need to worry about that. We were seated immediately which was nice, but the location of our seating was odd. We got free chips and salsa and they were good! We got there at happy hour and got a jumbo lime margarita and it was great and a large amount. Good thing we were able to take the rest home lol. We each ordered one of each taco on the taco week menu for $2 each which is a great price! They were all delicious but our favorite was the Al pastor taco. The other two we got were the marinated chicken and birria taco. Overall we had a great experience with delicious food. We've been here before and definitely will come back again!

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and always enjoy the experience! The staff is always friendly and attentive. I typically order the chicken fajitas and always enjoy those! This time I tried the enchilada cazerola with shredded chicken. I ordered this at a different El Vaquero location and it came out sizzling on a fajita skillet with tons of sauce and cheese and was truly the best enchilada I've ever had. This time it came out on the dish shown below and was room temperature by the time I received it. It was okay but no where near as good as when I got it at the other location. I think moving forward I will stick to fajitas at this location.
